Ratnapura and Kegalle are two main districts which belong to Sabaragamuwa Province.
Ratnapura is the known as the city of Gems. The well known area to find valuable gem stones in the world. Sabaragamuwa province is also known the its unique style of dances which are different from the rest of Sri Lanka.

There are important landmarks such as, Sinharaja tropical rain forest(which is one of the few virgin rain forests left in the world) and Uda Walawe wild life park are visited by the local people from all parts of the country. This is a popular destination for people who like wildlife safaris. Ratnapura has a gateway to the popular pilgrimage site “Sri Pada” or Adam’ peak.
