Colombo
Largest city in the country, also known as the commercial capital. The large natural harbor , Colombo was known to ancient traders for more than 2,000 years. The most significant places in Colombo city are the Galle Face, Viharamahadevi Park and the National museum. There are lot of restaurants and entertainment available in Colombo.
The architecture, names, clothing, food, language and attitudes in Colombo city clearly show the the influence of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British. Still the buildings from all three eras can be seen proudly standing in the city limits. Furthermore the city and its people show an interesting mix of European clothing and lifestyles blend with local customs.
Colombo has a mixer of hilly, flat and marshy land. The north and the south sides of the city are hilly and the east and south east sides are bordered by marshy land. You will see water canals and the Beira Lake in the heart of the city. The Northern and North-Eastern border of the city is formed by the Kelani river.
Kalutara
The famous pilgrimage site Kaluthara Bodhiya(a tree)and temple is in this town.
Gampaha
Gampaha Henarthgoda Botanical Gardens is the location where the first rubber tree plant was planted in Sri Lanka, and since rubber has become a major economic export in the Island. Still the first tree can be seen in the garden itself. This is the home of famous Ayurveda Physician Wickremarachchi.
Katunayake
Sri Lankas'
international air port is located here. The free trade zone which
known as export promotion zone, has been contributing to the nation's
economy with a very large scale.
Moratuwa
The place where we can find the best manufacturers in furniture, rubber products, batteries, and wood handicrafts. Also famous in fishing and trading center. This is a favorite shopping destination.
Kitulgala
Popular place among locals who love wildlife and who search for a place to go away from the busy city life. One of most wet rain forest zone where it gets two monsoons each year. The Kelani river is popular among the white water rafting people. The people from Colombo go over there during the weekends to have a rest and taste the local meals from restaurants near by.

Award winning "The
Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed here in the
Kelani river running from Kitulgala.Also the forest is very popular
among the bird watchers.
Kotte
The administrative capital of Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Parliament is located here.
